I've been staring at your photos. I've been living vicariously through your vacation updates and stunning panoramic shots of vistas I've never witnessed myself. I've been digitally stalking you and your children, sometimes laughing out loud at the silly things they say and gushing over babies I've never met in person.
Welcome to I'll See You Soon. A project based on my 221 Facebook friends and getting to know them, in real life. Most of my friends are people I see on a semi-regular basis. Some daily, some weekly, some in just the last year. But some, I haven't seen in years. I only view their status updates and know what they choose to share about themselves via Facebook or Twitter. This project is my effort to reconnect, in a face to face way with those I call my friends.
Over the next year, I will be exploring what it means to meet in person, those friends I know digitally. I am starting with a goal of 100 friends, generated from my Facebook list of (currently) 221. I hope to meet each one of the 100 in person, have a connection face to face, and share a bit about the journey it took to get there and something we did together.
I hope you enjoy the journey along with me and if you're inspired to join in, let me know and we'll take this voyage of connection, together.
